San Diego Weekend

I could not tell you why but Garry pointed out that every time we head out to go on a trip, big or small, on of us ends up getting sick! So, it had to be me this weekend. The stomach flu is rampantly taking out the kids at my school one by one. I probably should have known that I was next in it's line of fire but I got up sat morning to get ready for this trip to Coronado Island I had been so looking forward to. Got up did laundry, went for my waxing, scrubbed what I could with Clorox wipes and suddenly I got this aching in my gut. I could not think of what could have caused it! Was I dehydrated? did I take some headache meds on too empty of a stomach? So I started drinking water trying to aleiviate this nausea. Garry got home from work to find me laying on the couch, laundry unfolded and that gave me a second wind! I was ready to get out of there! Of course G was starving so we went down to the golden arches for some grub and all I had to do was be in the same car as that food and all of the water I had in my tummy came spewing out all over the side of the freeway! That was the opening of the flood gates. I proceeded to blow choudy the rest of the day. We stayed in the Marriot on the island. It was a very nice room and I quickly discovered a huge tub that I managed to get 2 baths in during our short stay. Saturday night we went for a little exploration drive. Stopping along the way to enjoy the super fine each sand and freezing cold wind and then we found the gem! A 3 screen DRIVE-IN! Yay! The perfect activity for a girl thats not feelin' so hot and her movie lovin' fiance. First we watched a movie about a homicide detective, something Paine the second movie was Eagle Eye. I enjoyed what I saw of both of them but addmittedly I was cuddled in my blanket passed out most of the time! We headed back to the hotel at about 12:30 and got lost on our way back since we had driven there in sunlight and had never been there before! In the morning I was feeling a billion times better and was FAMISHED so we went down to enjoy the hotels fabulous buffet and everything was quite tasty. I asked the waiter if they had any herbal teas and he brought me out an entire box to select from. Thats what I'm talking about! We went back to the consiarge and asked what we should do for the remainder of this beautiful Sunday afternoon and her suggestion was fabulous! She told us that Sundays in Balboa park were the place to be and boy was she right! We drove into the aprk and I instantly knew it was going to be right up my alley. On either side of us were museums and gardens and sculptures and international cottages where on sundays each nation opens there house and guests go in and see how they are representing their people. We ended up going to the cottages first and each on was so cool! The most exciting people to talk to were the Italians of course but in the China house we got our names written in Chinese which was pretty awesome. It was the Czech's week to perform out on the stage and serve their food. It smelled AMAZING but we had just eaten at the hotel darn it! At 2 o'clock each Sunday at the Spreckles organ an ogrganist plays songs for an hour and we watched Dr. Karen _____ play and it was unbelieveable! When the concert was over we walked down to the tram and took the little trolley down to the information desk and then explored a free museum until 4 when it closed. After a fun day at Balboa Park we drove down to the gaslamp district and walked around for a bit and ate at Yardhouse. YUM! There were a ton of crazy homeless people on the streets in that area... it made me miss S.C. so we headed home.
